Although Comic Emporium Comic Books did not make its presence on to the web until November of 2000, its true beginnings can be traced back to a small mail order business started in Columbia, Tenessee in 1987.
In 1993 the mail order business was set aside for a small "brick and mortar" comic book store that is still operating today. The store does not carry new issue comics but specializes in offering back issue comic books at discount prices. This includes recent back issues as well as silver age and golden age comic books. This is managed by buying other stores overstock and on ocassion, buying a stores entire inventory of comic books as they close their doors for good.
