Description
I grew up in southern Minnesota, an hour south of the Minneapolis area. Since I lived in the land of 10,000 lakes for most of my life, I thought it was time for a change. So, I moved to Denver, Colorado in 1994 to live in the Mountains. Although, Denver is a great city, it’s not exactly the type of mountain living I had in mind (if I looked just right I could see a tiny portion of a snow capped mountain peak in between two tall buildings from my apartment).
Then one day I was asked to take care of some business in Trinidad, Colorado. So, I drove down late the night before my appointments and checked into a local hotel. I will never forget the day that I saw the Sangre de Cristo Mountains for the first time! As soon as I saw them I was hooked. I told myself that this is why I moved to Colorado! I was standing near my car in that hotel parking lot in awe! That afternoon my life changed. While conducting business with some new clients I was offered a chance of a lifetime, a chance to do something I have always wanted to do, live and work in the mountains! I was officially offered a job with a local real estate company a week later and within 3 weeks had my real estate license and moved to Trinidad.
Well, 9 years later, I have opened my own company; I have enjoyed the most fantastic climate around; and I have seen herds of elk and deer and flocks of wild turkey, a mother bear teaching her baby cub how to swim, and several of my clients build on their mountain dream property. I was even able to purchase my very own 35 acre parcel. Yes, Colorado has been good to me, my family, and my beloved dog Touchdown.
