About Collingwood
Collingwood College was formed in 1971 with the amalgamation of Frimley and Camberley Grammar School, Bagshot County Secondary School and Barossa County Secondary School. It consists of five substantial buildings on a 30-acre wooded campus.
In November 2004, a new 6th Form Centre was commissioned. This building replaces the former Ballard Building and provides a 'high-tec', office style environment for learning. Further development of the site is planned.
The application for Grant Maintained Status was overwhelmingly supported by parents following unanimous votes in favour by the Governing Body. The order was signed by the Secretary of State on 26th June 1991, indicating that Collingwood Grant Maintained School would be incorporated on 1st September 1991. After consultation with parents the Governing Body adopted Foundation Status under the new Schools’ Framework which came into effect on 1st September 1999.
