Who would have thought that a little store near the Nebraska State Capitol in downtown Lincoln would have blossomed into what it is today? Colby Ridge has grown from that original little store that was opened in 1931 by "Pop" Charles Miller, to four commercial locations, a national catalog business, and an on-line popcorn/gift shopping experience. All of the Colby Ridge business today is an expansion of that original store, including many of the original recipes. Colby Ridge has built upon all the same secrets to freshness, flavor and the highest quality of service available, that were born in that original location.
Our unique recipes and care of preparation, packaging and shipping is what makes Colby Ridge such a special treat. Among the many delicious flavors, is a unique, sweet, and buttery caramel corn. This recipe has such an exceptionally luscious flavor due to the specially selected ingredients. Popcorn connoisseurs of all kinds will also love the gourmet white popcorn that is popped in pure corn oil. The great popcorn taste comes with virtually no hulls, due to the special hybrid of popping corn that is grown and processed to a strict standard of excellence. Colby Ridge is one of the few remaining companies that use popcorn that is picked on the ear and shelled just prior to popping to guarantee just the right moisture content for a true gourmet taste.
