Calder and Lawson has been providing travel services to companies and individuals for 20 years. Established in 1984, the company has grown to meet the increasing requirements of the aspects of travel.C & L operate five separate business divisions. These are Calder & Lawson House of Travel (retail/holidays), Orbit Corporate Travel (business travel), Agri-travel (inbound and outbound agricultural based tours), Calder & Lawson Groups (sports and special interest), Calder & Lawson Tours (educational tours) and Calder & Lawson Events.
With 45 staff and an annual turnover of $33m, Calder and Lawson House of Travel is a well-known and respected travel company both within the Waikato District and on a national level. In July 2002, the corporate division of Calder and Lawson House of Travel was re-branded as ' Orbit Corporate Travel'. This progression made leading travel technology solutions available to Calder and Lawson House of Travel's corporate customers. Other Orbit offices (established by the House of Travel Group) are located in Auckland , Massey (Palmerston North), Wellington , Nelson, Christchurch , Dunedin and Invercargill.
C & L is the area representative for the worldwide American Express Travel network, giving access to more than 1700 offices in 120 countries. The American Express worldwide customer care programme has tremendous benefits for its clients. Orbit is recognised for its dedication to customer service and as a leader in the development of new travel technologies to the corporate travel market. Calder and Lawson House of Travel has had an alliance with the House of Travel Group for 10 years. In January 2003 Calder and Lawson House of Travel was formed and continues to specialise in holiday and leisure travel services.
