KDL Enterprises, Inc. began in 1978 as a sheet metal shop owned and operated by Kit and Dan Law. The company's first skylight product, dubbed "Dandee", outpaced sales of other products and quickly became the main focus of the operation. KDL was sold to Stuart Thornton in 1985; he re-engineered the product and changed the product name to "Western Skylights". Don Hess purchased KDL in 1990; since that time the company has experienced tremendous sales growth. KDL Enterprises, Inc.
