Description
Just 10 minutes from the historic City of York, we are ideally situated for visiting all the attractions in York and the surrounding area. York itself has an excellent Park and Ride bus service, as the centre of York is mostly restricted to traffic, this gives the visitor the chance to stroll round the medieval streets or walk the 2.2 miles of walls around the old City. We also have a main bus route into York, 5 minutes walk away which also services the coastal resorts of Scarborough and Whitby.
York is well known for it's historic interest but it also has excellent shops, restaurants and pubs, of which there are as many of as days in the year. It also boasts more ghosts than any other city in Europe. A Ghost Hunt of York is great fun, though a little scary! York Minster is the largest Gothic Cathedral this side of the Alps and has more stained glass than any other Church in England. Other main attractions in York are the National Railway Museum, Jorvik Viking Centre, York Castle Museum, or how about a boat trip on the Ouse to see the Archbishops Palace. York is an all year round destination with festivals and events most months.
Just outside York is the Elvington Air Museum and the MacArthur Glen Designer Outlet, and a good selection of golf courses, as well as York's famous Racecourse at the Knavesmire.
