Claremore has a current population estimated around 16,800. We are the county seat of Rogers County, located in Northeastern Oklahoma's "Green Country". According to the 2004 Census, the population of Rogers County is estimated to be 79,000. Rogers County, created in 1907 from the Cherokee Nation Coo-wee-Scoowee District, was named for Clement V. Rogers, a member of the Constitutional Convention and the father of Will Rogers, "The Cherokee Kid."
