Description
Bill Revell is now in his 9th term as Mayor of the City of Dyersburg which makes him the longest elected full time mayor in the history of Tennessee.
In 1987 Mayor Revell's outstanding accomplishments in Dyersburg's recruitment of industry and city planning earned him the coveted Tennessee Municipal League "Mayor of the Year" Award. He is past president of the West Tennessee Mayors and County executives Association. Mayor Revell has served for eight years as Chairman of the Tennessee Local Governmental Planning Advisory Commission which oversees and facilitates the planning efforts of cities and counties across the State of Tennessee. He is also past President of the Tennessee Municipal League. Mayor Revell also serves on the Advisory Board of the National League of Cities. For over forty-four years he has been an active Gideon and has held offices at the state and local levels. He is a devout and active Sunday School teacher and religious Lay speaker state-wide.
Mayor Revell is a founding member of the I-69 Mid-Continent Highway Coalition Board. A Board member for fifteen years, he is currently Chairman of the Tennessee I-69 Coalition.
