About Patty
Patty Clayton is a fourth generation descendant of an Oregon Trail emigrant and pioneer. As a young man, her great Grandfather emigrated with his parents and siblings by covered wagon in 1867. He eventually settled in central Idaho in 1886, where he engaged himself in cattle, horse and sheep ranching. Patty's family history and her love of the western way of life has given her the inspiration for her music.
Since the early 1970's, Patty has been performing for a variety of folk and traditional music events and has been awarded several winning trophies for her vocal and songwriting capabilities. She has performed with her guitar and her banjo singing her own original material as a solo act, and she is currently the bass player and harmony vocalist for the Academy of Western Artists Western Group of the Year, Jill Jones and the Lone Star Chorale from Driftwood,Texas.
After previously releasing 3 recording projects with other bands she has been involved with, Patty released her first solo CD in the year 2000 entitled "A Matter of Time" and has just released her second solo project "Just a Little Bit Cowgirl" in 2002, both of which are collections of original ballads and borrowed songs about today and yesterday in the West.
