Conservatives reach deal with Correctional Officers

That’s what the Conservative government in Ottawa continues to do. Its latest achievement is the tentative deal reached between the Treasury Board Secretariat and the Correctional Services Union announced yesterday. The agreement reached after four years of stalemate provides for a number of measures to be included in a new collective agreement that will be in effect until May 31, 2010.
“The Conservative government achieved an objective in four months that the previous government couldn’t achieve in four years,” Chilliwack-Fraser Canyon MP, Chuck Strahl, said. “We got down to working immediately on this file because we support our Correctional Officers and want to see them succeed in protecting all Canadians.”
