The Chiswick Choir has been resident in London W4 for more than 25 years. It was founded by the indefatigable John Thackray (who was involved with many choral groups) and has been directed by its present conductor, Alistair Jones for more than 20 years, and his 20
century piece with the world premier of Alistair Jones's new Stabat Mater, written for The Chiswick Choir and mezzo soprano Louise Tucker. A list of the choir's repertoire includes most of the major works suited to a choir of its size – the Bach Passions, Mass in B minor, oratorios by Handel, works by Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven, Verdi's Requiem, Mendelssohn's Elijah and so on.
