- Teach English in the highly-rated public schools of Shenzhen, China's economic miracle adjacent to Hong Kong. Learn Mandarin Chinese and gain a year's experience in one of the most important and interesting cultures. This well-established, large program is supported by the Shenzhen government and is entering its tenth year. It begins with three weeks at Beijing University for training in Chinese language (4 levels; the beginning course requires no prior study of Chinese) and in English teaching methods (with classroom practice). Participants have come from throughout the USA and from Canada and Great Britain. They are graduates of more than 180 colleges and universities, and range in age from early 20s to late 50s.
