Chiswick Pier is managed by the Chiswick Pier Trust, a registered charity no. 1026957, dedicated to putting Londoners in touch with the River Thames. It is staffed mainly by volunteers. Our stretch of the Thames is named after Corney House, a walled medieval estate that was just downriver from the Pier. More recently, the area was home to the Thornycroft shipyard, whose bell may be seen in the Pier House. The large bollards along the wharf give evidence to the size of the ships once moored here.
