Owned by Chef William Severac and his wife, Muriel, Chez Gerard is located in the historic Hopwood House, dating from 1790, in the village of Hopwood, Pennsylvania, at the base of the Laurel Highlands. It opened in August, 1994.
Chez Gerard is located in Fayette County, a region rich in French and American history. It has some fascinating neighbors, all of them only minutes away: Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater, Fort Necessity National Battlefield, Laurel Caverns, and Ohiopyle State Park with its white-water rafting. Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and Mount Summit are also nearby.
