The best way to begin to use this site is to enter a search word in the search box on the front page. Some suggested searches: main street, school collection, skiing, your family's last name... As we learn more about the software we will be dividing photos into categories like "Browns Lake" or "Goodman Family." We are almost finished with the main "infrastructure" of this database and then we will begin to gather more photos. Would you like to contribute photos to the museum database? If you can, copy your photos onto a cd and drop it off at the Museum or The Deli. Please include a document with the identity of as many people in the photograph as you can. We are especially interested in the earliest pictures you have. If you don't have access to a computer, a good alternative is to color copy your photos at a copy center. We are currently working on a grant that would enable us to come to your home with a portable scanner. The database includes photos from Chewelah, Valley, Bluecreek, Addy and Springdale. The Chewelah Museum is located in Stevens County, the northeast corner of Washington State, USA. You will find the museum east of Highway 395 between the swimming pool and the city park. We now have over 800 photographs online.
