Description
ChesedNet improves access to information and referral services for the general community in a culturally appropriate manner. In addition, ChesedNet enlists chesed organizations to work together to share information via the Internet, creating an on-line virtual community of chesed organizations.
The World Wide Web offers the ability to research and disseminate information in an extremely efficient manner. ChesedNet will take advantage of this ability by publishing a directory of medical support services and related information, as well as other types of useful chesed related information and organizations. This will offer convenient, "one-stop" access for individuals requiring assistance, and would otherwise be unaware of these services. While the primary method of communication for this service will be the Internet, ChesedNet will offer limited telephone service and individual research projects.
In addition to researching and publishing this information on-line, ChesedNet will act as a conduit to foster cooperation between various chesed organizations. It will provide services and information to its member organizations that will not be made available to the general public. While causing no additional overhead to these member organizations, ChesedNet will create a community of chesed organizations that have access to the latest ChesedNet research, and that can communicate and share information on-line.
