- Born and raised in St. Michaels on the Eastern shore of Maryland, it was there that I developed a passion for food.Idecided at an early age to make it a career. My career began as a busboy at the age of thirteen, became a prep cook at 15. Began to take food service at a vocational school. It was then that I decided to go to culinary school, Baltimores International Culinary Arts institute, now known as BIC. After graduation, I accepted a sous chef position in Chestertown , MD. After a year I returned to Baltimore, to become Executive Chef of small restaurant In the Inner Harbor. After 2 years, it was off to Washington, DC as Executive Sous Chef at The JFK Center for The Performing Arts, where I spent the next 7 years, leaving in 1994 to come to Philadelphia. I now reside in Pennsauken, NJ with my wife , Cheryl ( who is also my partner in business), 2 sons, 2 grand sons and 2 dogs.
