Public Courses
Through Sur La Table and the University of Richmond, I offer classes spanning a wide variety of interesting cooking topics and techniques—all geared toward the budding home chef. Virtually all of my classes are hands-on in an effort to maximize the educational experience. For a list of upcoming classes and contact information, please check my public courses schedule.
Private Instruction
Just imagine the fun of intimate cooking lessons held in your home! Whether it's a one-on-one or small-group affair, fun and learning is the whole idea. First, we begin by planning the lesson together. Then, I come to your door with the groceries and equipment needed to create some fantastic homemade food. And finally, I clean up my equipment and get out of your hair while and your fellow "students" enjoy the fruits of your labor. Even the billing is simple—just an hourly rate plus grocery reimbursement. Special group rates are available for groups of one or two students. Please refer to my rates and packages page.
Chef Martin
In addition to almost twenty years in food service and five plus years of teaching experience, a degree from the University of Richmond as well as formal training from Johnson & Wales Culinary School have prepared me well to provide excellent service and a top notch product. Additionally, stints as a chef at The Bull & Bear Club and Enzo's Ristorantè in the Richmond area have provided me the opportunity to create some of the finest food in town.
