So, I had a big problem with the movie version of Running with Scissors because the director wished he was Wes Anderson (Life Aquatic, Royal Tenenbaums, Bottle Rocket) and failed miserably at trying to be him. This movie is a similar situation where I might think that the director, Mike White, wished he was Todd Solondz (Welcome to the Dollhouse, Happiness, Palindromes), but in this case I was not disappointed.
