Description
The symbol featured on the charmed book of shadows as most people know, is called the Triquetra, pronounced Try-KET-ra, meaning Latin for "Three cornered". An existing symbol that worked perfectly for the TV show. In the TV show of course it is known as the symbol representing "The power of three . .”.
As any fan of the series knows the "Power of three" is the combined magical power of the Halliwell sisters. Who are three "good" witches living in San Francisco. Each of them have their own unique power on their own, but together they combine their power creating the power of three, an almost unstoppable force destroying any demon in their path. They live in a world of evil supernatural creatures, and other assorted demonic baddies. Anyone who has taken the time to look at this, probably knows the ins and outs of the whole story, so no point adding to this further. In fact you may know more than me. f
The Triquetra often spelt Triqueta is a symbol composed of three interlocked intersections of three circles. It is most commonly a symbol of the Holy Trinity (Father, son, Holy Spirit). Over time this symbol has been used by many religions like the Celtic Christian Church, sometimes stylized this as three interlaced fish: This symbol predates Christianity and was likely a Celtic symbol of the triple Goddess, and in the North, a symbol of the god Odin.
