Chabad of Greece is part of the worldwide movement of Chabad- Lubavitch , dedicated to the spiritual and physical well being of Jews everywhere, under the leadership of the Lubavicher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Shneerson obm.
After over 30 years of cooperation with the Jewish communities in Greece, Chabad opened a permanent center in Athens during spring 2001, operated by Rabbi Mendel Hendel and his wife Nechama.
Chabad of Athens offers a wide variety of classes, programs designed to reach all ages and levels of Jewish learning. Our activities include Discussion groups on Contemporary Jewish Issues, Weekly Talmud & Torah Study Groups, Classes in Jewish philosophy and Mysticism, Special Holiday Programs, publication of Jewish material in the Greek language, Jewish E-mail Service and Homepage, Shabbat Meals and Tourist assistance.
