About Us Central Pierce Fire & Rescue (also known as Pierce County Fire District 6) was formed in 1995, following a merger of Fire District 6 (Parkland/Midland), Fire District 7 (Spanaway) and Fire District 9 (Summit/South Hill). In 2008, voters approved a merger of the City of Puyallup into Central Pierce Fire & Rescue. The District provides 24 hour emergency medical and fire suppression protection to approximately 194,000 citizens and covers a 83.
