Celebrations Gallery & Shoppesis located in a quaint New England town on National Scenic Byway Route 169 in the northeast corner of Connecticut. The setting is a lovingly restored 18th-century Queen Anne Victorian set amidst stately beech, maple and cherry trees and surrounded by lush and colorful gardens.
Jean Barton, Proprietor & Business Manager
Jean spent 18 years in a variety of corporate positions that provided her with dynamic skills and customer service orientation, all brought forth into the various small businesses she has since owned. As "The Magic Jeanie", she designed and painted faux & decorative finishes for walls, ceilings, floors, and furniture. The last few years immersed in the world of innkeeping, her creative culinary talents and food presentations were award-winning. Celebrations Inn Bed & Breakfast received "Best in the East" and was written up in many publications, including the NY Times. Jean also spent several years on various tourism related board of directors; focusing on marketing, public relations, and packaging.
Jackie Mahoney, Artist Liaison & Fiber Artisan
Jackie has a B.A and has spent 12 years working in detail oriented corporate positions. For the past three years Jackie led the production of the “Artists’ Gathering Celebration”; a yearly event showcasing local artistic talent. Immersed in her mother’s haberdashery skills from the 1930’s and 40’s, Jackie has been fine-tuning her sewing & knitting expertise since childhood. In addition, she has multiple years of retail experience. Jackie established “Iese” in 1998; a company named after her daughter Anneliese. Her uniquely designed linen wine bags, children’s clothing, and knitwear have been sold locally. She has most recently been experimenting with various fiber related techniques.
