Concept Engineering Group, LLC is a unique consultancy located in the Los Angeles area. CEG provides a novel mix of consulting services to client firms - all directed at improving the client’s business. CEG will help a client firm with business strategy development and formalization, including preparation of business plan documents. Utilizing experience in widely diverse industries, CEG will develop, independently or with client staff, new product concepts. CEG will , if desired, provide complete turnkey product development, delivering a fully documented and tested design ready for production. Clearly, CEG can also provide any desired subset of full turnkey development - implementation of in-house concepts, redesign of existing products, evaluation of company and competitor products, documentation of products and processes.
Robert J. Toering founded Concept Engineering Group in 1995 (initially called Toering & Associates) as a different kind of consulting company. His experience diversifying a dying defense contractor had shown that truly creative and business savvy consultants were hard to find. He created a consultancy that was well versed in the basics of sound business management and could effectively translate that knowledge into actionable guidance for a client. But more importantly, it is a consultancy that fosters the creation of superior products as the key to enhanced profitability and business growth.
As the principal of Concept Engineering Group, Mr. Toering is personally involved in every project CEG undertakes. Holding a Mechanical Engineering Degree from Purdue and a Masters in Product Design from Illinois Institute of Technology, Robert brings a unique educational background to the firm. His career, before founding CEG, is just as unique; combining many years in corporate product development departments with almost 15 years of business general management, running manufacturing and service firms as large as $300 million in revenue.
