Title

Canadian Council for Tobacco Control - Welcome to the CCTC

Description

Role of the CCTC

The CCTC, formerly the Canadian Council on Smoking and Health (CCSH), was founded in 1974 by non-governmental organizations concerned with the tobacco epidemic such as the Canadian Cancer Society, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada and the Canadian Lung Association.

Recently, the CCTC reviewed its vision and mission. We include both as they support all endeavours the CCTC manages at present or would undertake in the future.

Vision

The CCTC envisions a strong and effective tobacco control movement in which the CCTC plays an important role in diminishing the adverse impact to the health of Canadians caused by tobacco industry products. The CCTC believes that increasing the effectiveness and capacity of individuals and organizations involved in tobacco control can achieve the vision of a smoke free society in Canada.
