Cave Creek is frequently mentioned in the same breath as Carefree, the neighboring town to the east. The style of the two towns is pretty much directly opposite. The style of Carefree and its residents leans to the more upscale look and feel, while Cave Creek revels in funkiness and being 'Western'. There are more horses and fewer golf courses per capita than the typical local Arizona town, and 'Creekers' are working hard to keep it that way.
