Cataract treatment
Light is focused once entering the lens of the eye; therefore a clear lens is essential for clear vision. Clouding of the lens (a cataract) will restrict vision. Once this loss of vision progresses enough to affect activities of daily living, many people consider cataract treatment. Cataract treatment involves surgically taking out the lens of the eye and putting in an artificial lens (called an intraocular lens, which is often made of acrylic, plastic, or silicone).
