The Catalog Consultancy was formed in Boston Mass., by Sidney H. Kerber in 1980. The company relocated to South Florida in 1988.

Prior to establishing The Catalog Consultancy, Mr. Kerber was, for 16 years, Vice President Marketing of The King-Size Co., a division of The Knapp King-Size Corp., a national retail and direct-selling marketer of shoes and apparel. Mr. Kerber also served as the General Manager of Forest Advertising, the company's "in-house" agency responsible for national ad creation and media placement. It was during this period that Sidney Kerber created one of the first DRTV ( direct response television) catalog inquiry commercials.

Mr. Kerber was a participant in the LBO (leveraged buy out) of Knapp King-Size Corp., from its former owners, New York University.
