- Cat Island is approximately forty-two miles long and two and a half miles across. Our two-bedroom guesthouse is on the Caribbean side of the Island situated on a mile long crescent bay. It has a fully equipped kitchen and we provide all bed linens and towels. It is a very safe and restful island. There are no casinos or large resorts. There are wonderful native restaurants or you may choose to bring a cooler of groceries with you (no fresh fruits or veggies allowed through customs). There are small grocery stores on the Island for dry goods, eggs, juices, sodas, sandwich meat and occasional fresh fruits and vegetables. Bring cash with you! The stores and restaurants do not accept credit cards or traveler's check. Car rentals are available at approximately $85.00 per day. There are small liquor/beer stores close by.
