Casting Connection began as an industry 'zine and quickly grew in size and distribution. By the end of its second year, it had expanded over four times in page count and seven times in circulation, and had won the 1998 Below the Line 'Best Trade Publication' award. When the opportunity arose to make Casting Connection even timelier, the publication moved online. Its growing success speaks to its ability to deliver to filmmakers, playwrights, producers, cast and crew the access and community they need to develop better projects.

Molly Craft founded Casting Connection in 1997. Since its inception, it has grown from a small, local printed magazine to a respected online resource. A 20-year veteran of the entertainment & fashion industry, Molly has worked and lived in New York, Chicago, Miami, London, Paris, Milan, Tokyo, and Amsterdam. Shortly after moving to San Francisco, she drew on her experience to open a casting agency. After acquainting herself with the local talent pool, she created Casting Connection to provide direct access to the directors, actors & crew.

Rebecca Friese is an actor who, upon moving to Chicago from San Francisco in 2004, found a great need in the city for the kind of connections that Casting Connection had provided her in the Bay Area. A former organizational consultant, she recognized that there was no point in ‘reinventing the wheel’ -- Casting Connection was doing everything fabulously already! With a little love, magic and some elbow grease, Casting Connection Chicago was born. Rebecca is continuing to pursue her acting career in Chicago while helping Casting Connection Chicago grow and spread the CC word across the Midwest.
