About Cartwheel
Cartwheel’s primary aim is to offer visitors a true taste of rural life with the opportunity to enjoy the experience of a working farm or relax in beautiful and peaceful surroundings in the countryside. We select businesses that are family run and encourage the serving and sourcing of local food. Cartwheel actively supports the protection and conservation of our landscape and wildlife habitats. We expect the adoption of green tourism activities to enrich the holiday experience.
Cartwheel is a private sector, non-profit making company, run by farmers and staffed by people who are passionate about the range of activities and benefits of taking a holiday in the beautiful countryside of South West England.
Cartwheel is distinctive and different in that it urges all businesses to provide an experience which relates to the countryside; providing animals for guests to watch, feed and touch, promotion of local customs, local foods, recreational activities and crafts. We advocate that all farm attractions sell any produce they make on site and also source other local produce and crafts for visitors to sample and purchase.
