Description
The CAROLINA CHORDSMEN CHORUS and its member quartets and ensembles are the performing units of the ROCK HILL AREA CHAPTER OF THE SOCIETY FOR THE PRESERVATION AND ENCOURAGEMENT OF BARBER SHOP QUARTET SINGING IN AMERICA, INC (SPEBSQSA). The local chapter was organized early in the year 2000 due to the efforts of a local musician by the name of PETER BROUILLETTE who is considered the FOUNDER of this local singing organization.
The Chapter is incorporated in South Carolina as a non-profit organization. The performing units of the Chapter give performances within Rock Hill and its adjacent communities to raise money for Chapter operations and to support the CHAPTER'S MISSION of PRESERVING THE BARBERSHOP MUSICAL LEGACY THROUGH SUPPORT OF VOCAL MUSIC EDUCATION IN OUR SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES. All funds realized through these activities are used for the Chapter's operations and mission.
