Caprivi Bush Experiences recognises the importance of conserving one of the last remaining truly wild areas in Africa, together with the wonderful wildlife and cultures it contains. We value the diversity of flora, fauna and traditional cultures in this region, and wish to preserve it. We promote conservation by giving local communities the skills to work in tourism and Park management fields. We enable our international students / volunteers to experience one of the last remaining open wilderness areas in Africa, and obtain a professional recognised qualification. And we add value for both local communities and our international guests by providing an outstanding cross-cultural experience. We also support and promote responsible eco-tourism that will help create a sustainable co-existence of people and wild animals. Caprivi Bush Experiences is located in northern Namibia’s wild Caprivi region (See Map). The region comprises four national parks in Namibia (Mahango, Bwabwata, Mudumu, Mamili), Chobe National Park in northern Botswana, and South Luanga National Park in Zambia. It also includes several well-managed Conservancies that provide an important buffer zone between people and wildlife. As there are no fences, the wildlife moves freely between countries, national parks and conservancies. Field Guide (nature guide) development Training for Field Guide Level 1, accredited by the Field Guides Association of South Africa (FGASA). Theoretical and practical training sessions followed by the FGASA exam. Study and learn in a naturally wild area, unfenced and untamed. This is real Africa. Practical bush (game ranger) skills development This is an exciting African wilderness experience ideally suited to people who love the outdoors and nature enthusiasts. The student will learn practical game ranger / bush skills and have a wonderful African wildlife experience. Conservation project Help Caprivi Bush Experiences to conduct important research and conservation work. This is your opportunity to utilize some of your skills learnt in the Field Guide Level 1 course, and assist the game ranger with the practical aspects of conservation and living next to wild animals. There are no requirements to join this project, so it can also be done on its own. Community project This experience introduces students to the traditional way of life in the Caprivi region. Most people here still life a simple subsistence lifestyle, very different to what our international guests are used to.
