Description
Capital City Chorus (CCC) is Indiana's premiere show chorus for women. This local chapter of Sweet Adelines International (SAI) was founded in 1956 and has entertained audiences throughout the Midwest with its special brand of four-part harmony.
A driving goal of CCC is to be a Fabulous Performing Chorus! Weekly rehearsals, private vocal instruction for members, dance lessons, public performances and competition with other barbershop groups help the chorus reach toward that goal. Performances feature a wide variety of music, including old standards, Broadway show-stoppers, contemporary pop and country, gospel, patriotic numbers and jazz -- which give audiences a high-quality, high-energy performance that will leave them smiling and humming a familiar tune.
The 100+ members of the group come not just from the Indianapolis area, but from Muncie, Bloomington, New Castle, Lafayette and Fort Wayne. Rehearsals are held at All Soul's Unitarian Church, 5805 E. 56th St., every Thursday evening at 7 p.m. Every rehearsal includes group voice lessons and choreography training. Vocal coaches are brought in for additional rehearsals to educate and train our singers.
