CINZ is a well established, wholly New Zealand owned and operated company. We are an importer and stocking distributor of test and measurement instrumentation, RF hardware and antennas, cables, connectors and other electronic componentry, including the leading brand of audio connectors. We provide both product and technical assistance to all those in the electronics, electrical, audio, IT and telecommunications industries.
We are by far the largest company of our type in New Zealand, indeed, we are the only company in our field to maintain a sales force in all centres in New Zealand. We have an exceptional heritage for a young and antipodean company, of which we are justly proud. The origins of CINZ can be traced back to the early part of this century and to the pioneers of telecommunications; to Guglielmo Marconi himself. In one guise or another we have been supplying New Zealand industry since 1913.
In 1913 the Australian multinational electronics company, Amalgamated Wireless Australasia Ltd, was formed by the merging in Australia of wireless communications leaders of their time, Marconi and Telefunken. 1913 saw the arrival of AWA Pty in New Zealand and the subsequent creation of AWA NZ Ltd. The sale of AWA NZ Ltd's components and instrumentation division in 1990 produced Components + Instrumentation (NZ) Ltd. The original CINZ was born in 2001 as a remodeling of C+I NZ and became a member of the AVW group in November 2005. We are a compact organisation with a simple management structure. We have technically qualified Sales Engineers based in New Zealand's three major centres, Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. These sales professionals are supported by qualified sales-support, product specialist, product management, administration and accounting personnel based in our Auckland head office.
