The Boerboel has become world renowned with fame in Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Europe, South Africa and many other countries.
All of these countries have Boerboel breeders , clubs or organizations that boast to have the best bloodlines. Many breeders have beautiful healthy dogs and practice proper breeding standards, and live up to their reputations as responsible breeders. But unfortunately there are many breeders that don't see the dogs as we do and practice really bad breeding habits. Unfortunately due to these terrible breeding habits future Boerboel owners suffer, but regrettably the dogs suffer most.
Canadian Boerboel Club was established in 2001. We are a fully licensed independent breeder based in Western Canada and Southern Africa. Breeding Boerboels and other breeds has been apart of my family since I was a child. As a child my father Basil Warren Henwood who is a freelance veterinarian in Southern Africa would take me along with him while he took care of the local tribesman/farmers dogs, cattle and live stock. His passion for breeding Boerboels , English Bullterriers and adopting any abused animals has taught me how to respect and raise these beautiful creatures. Growing up with a Boerboel as our guardian, started my love for these majestic companions and protector of the family. Being raised by a one of a kind man like my father Basil Warren Henwood has made me into the person I am today and I put that same care and love that he had for our animals into the Boerboels we breed today.
