Welcome to Cambridge High School's Website
Description
The Cambridge badge was designed by Miss Phyllis Kayser, a teacher at Cambridge Junior School. It consists of a horseshoe turned sideways to represent a C for Cambridge. The horseshoe, apart from being a symbol of good luck, also links the locality of the school to the bend in the Nahoon which has the same name, Horseshoe Valley, near the village of Cambridge which was a separate town until about the 1940's. Some badges have eight nail holes - four on each side. The correct number of nail holes is seven, as indicated above. (Thanks to Mr O.J. Nel and Mr H.P. Buitendag)
