Description
Excerpted from the website:
- Cambodian Orphanage International was founded in 1999 by Phamara Uong, a Cambodian American who immigrated to the United States in 1981 after being made a refugee by the Cambodian Genocide. His mission is to help the orphans and street children of Cambodia whose suffering he has known so well. COI strives not only to bring tangible aid and hope to the lives of these poverty-stricken children but also to serve as a catalyst for greater humanitarian involvement in Cambodia. COI provides food, clothing, fresh water, health care, and educational assistance to children without hope for a future in the Third World. Most of COI's financial support for these philanthropic activities comes from ordinary people like you in the United States, Canada, Australia, Europe, and elsewhere around the world.
