About Caisson.org

A Caisson is a specific type of building foundation that is often used in the USA. It’s generally shaped like a box, and is created at ground level (or just above) and then sunk to a certain depth once it is finished. A caisson is great because it can be built and then just dropped to almost any depth and it will work perfectly well. It is often used when foundations need to be built underwater, because that’s when you need to be able to build something above ground and then drop it down.
