MISSION: Cab Watch is dedicated to improving New York City's safety and quality of life. Cab Watch provides taxi drivers with 911-direct wireless phones, police training, and highly visible signage. To promote active membership, Cab Watch also provides taxi drivers with group benefits and discounts on various goods and services.
OPPORTUNITY: Thousands of cab drivers cruise the streets 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, thus witnessing a significant number of crime and emergencies. Cab Watch enables these drivers to better protect themselves and increases the number of individuals patrolling the streets, making everyone safer. The program has been a huge success, and hundreds of crimes and emergencies have been reported or deterred.
