CASLAB - Laboratorio de Criptografia Aplicada y Seguridad

Description

The Applied Cryptography and Security Laboratory (CASLab) was created at the University of Chile on October 2001. It is a long term joint project of both the Ctr. de Modelamiento Matemático (CMM), a UChile-CNRS unit, and the Depto. de Cinecias de la Computación (DCC), both of the University of Chile. Its main objectives are:

To promote the use of open systems and the Internet by helping build confidence of the local community on them and their uses.

The lab has a two member board of directors; Alejandro Jofre (CMM) and José Miguel Piquer (DCC). Their mission is to oversee the use in accordance to the Lab's objectives of the resources the Lab is given and to channel funding from both the CMM and DCC to the Lab.
