BusinessCycle.com is the world's leading authority on business cycles.
Founded by renowned economist Geoffrey H. Moore, the Economic Cycle Research Institute (ECRI) produces independent analyses of business cycles and proprietary economic indicators. Moore focused his attention on the analysis of business cycles and became famous in the 1960s for creating the Index of Leading Economic Indicators (LEI), which has since been supplanted by ECRI’s Weekly Leading Index (WLI). The Economic Cycle Research Institute continues to build on the unique techniques introduced by Moore, concentrating on sequences of events as opposed to more traditional economic models and indicators. As such, the organization has created more than 100 indexes to track activity in 20 major economies across all major market sectors.
Investment managers, business executives, and government officials use the information from the Economic Cycle Research Institute to inform their business and policy decisions. Members of the Economic Cycle Research Institute receive exclusive access to all of its proprietary indexes through an online database, as well as frequent updates on the WLI and the Future Inflation Gauge (FIG), a monthly indicator of U.S. inflation pressure. In addition, all members receive several special reports produced by the organization, including US Cyclical Outlook and International Cyclical Outlook. The highest levels of membership offer exclusive access to principals at the Economic Cycle Research Institute through private advisory sessions.
The Economic Cycle Research Institute has correctly predicted many of the most significant market events in recent memory, including the technology bubble at the turn of the century and the housing crisis that led to the Great Recession. Furthermore, the organization foresaw future economic recovery during 2009, when many people were forecasting an ongoing recession. The Economic Cycle Research Institute maintains offices in New York and London to ensure timely access to the most pertinent information from the world’s most active financial hubs.
