There are 3 doctrines that have shaped the advance of freedom and democracy since the end of WW2. The first doctrine was Winston Churchill’s famous Iron Curtain speech that lead to NATO and the doctrine of containment of the Soviet Empire - a 40 year struggle. The second doctrine was Ronald Reagan’s Evil Empire speech declaring that the Soviet Union was an Evil Empire - that there was absolutely no moral equivalence between the West and the Soviet Empire.
