Description
Daniel Burns was born in Rochester, New York. He attended Penn State and Monroe Community College before he earned his B.F.A. in painting from the State University of New York at New Paltz. He moved to Los Angeles in 1997 and studied drawing and painting under Tom X, a reclusive yet brilliant painter. He then moved to Austin, Texas where he stayed for three years before moving back to Los Angeles to continue his studies with Tom X. He is currently gathering inspiration from his travels and the central Texas area. He has had shows at Artfarm Gallery, Gallery Lombardi, Artist's Gallery and Studios on Sixth, Ruta Maya Coffee House and Cafe Mundi in Austin, Texas. The College Art Gallery in New Paltz, New York, Memorial Art Gallery and Mercer Gallery in Rochester, New Yorkhave also held exhibitions. He has works in private collections in New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Washington D.C., Rochester, Atlanta, New Paltz, Salt Lake City, and Austin.
