Company founded and owned by Theodore E. "Ted" Deery, whose family owns a race track in Rockford, IL. Inspired by R. Buckminster Fuller, Deery worked as a salesman for a builder of residential geodesic domes. Deery subsequently gained control of the sales franchise in the United States, retaining the design, but adapting its use solely for industrial and commercial buildings -- primarily salt storage facilities. Bulk Storage Inc. has since expanded its offerings to include barn-style structures. Despite a series of setbacks that included employee deaths, lawsuits from several state employment departments, and the abrupt departure of a key employee, Bulk Storage Inc. continues to provide salt storage facilities to township, municipal, county and state highway departments.
