Brokers Real Estate was founded in 1993 by Sherry and Shel Larkby, a husband and wife team married over 40 years. Sherry began her uninterrupted real estate career in 1978 in Geneva, Illinois, and was one of the top candidates for Rookie of the Year in a 31 office chain. From St. Charles, Illinois, Sherry and Shel moved to Traverse City, Michigan, where they worked for Real Estate One until their arrival on Hilton Head in 1991. They have three adult sons.
