Brighton Jive Promotions is run by Colin Tenn and Janneke Saebo, who have been dancing 1940s and 50s style jive together since 1996. They love dancing to the authentic Big Band Swing, Rhythm & Blues and Rock’n’Roll of the era, and are also both keen collectors of the original clothing, which they wear at their lessons, dances and events.
They run Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced jive dancing courses, a twice-monthly 1940s and 50s dance called Kalamazoo, and the annual Rhythm & Blues Revue in Worthing. They also regularly perform in dance displays and shows with their group The Brighton Jive Dancers, and during the last few years, have found their dancing feet in demand for a variety of different assignments, including;
Taking part in films, such as BBC1's The Last of the Blonde Bombshells with Dame Judi Dench, Last Orders starring Michael Caine, shown at cinemas during 2002; Lucky Jim, shown on ITV in 2003, and the soon-to-be-released PiccadillyJim.
