Helen and Tahir Hasan, founded the charity Bridging Frontiers, to provide relief for people caught up in the earthquake that devastated Pakistan’s North West Frontier Province. At 8.50am Saturday 8th October 2005, a major earthquake, measuring 7.6 on the Richter Scale, struck Northern Pakistan & adjoining areas. It was similar in scale to the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and the 1935 Quetta Earthquake. The earthquake caused catastrophic damage.
