- My name is Gary Olsen. I'm a bowhunter. After God and family, bowhunting is first and foremost on my mind at any given time. My bowhunting buddy Mike Misch shares my passion. We've been bowhunting together for 28 years. I hunted with a recurve for 13 years before switching to a compound. In 1990, we went on an Alaskan wilderness float trip outfitted by Jay Massey. Jay inspired us to try traditional bowhunting again. The next season Mike switched to a recurve. I dug out a couple of my old recurves and started shooting them again.
